Process

Using the analysis results from previous activities perform the final design. The level of details should be deep enough enabling a immediate implementation of the interface using the necessary tools, components, languages and other facilities needed.

For user interfaces the layout including measurements and placements shall be determined.

For systems interfaces the electrical operation limits and logical functionality shall be described.

Why

The design process is heavily based on the analysis results, where the selection of the best suitable technique is selected. In the design phase the details shall be determined and noted. This enables the immediate implementation, even by other than the analysts and designers if necessary. There should be left nothing to be determined after the design process.
